What if the French Expedition to Egypt succeeded and Napoleon conquered the territory for France? Would France be able to expand and fulfill its goal of threatening British India? How do you think that Napoleon could've won (Bringing more soldiers and better equipment if necessary.) and what would the consequences be? What do you think.

Napoleon's land forces did well in Egypt. However, once the French fleet was destroyed in the Battle of the Nile (11 of 17 French ships sunk or captured, 0 British ships lost) the adventure was all but over. All in all, the French invasion of Egypt was poorly conceived and planned and the results demonstrated that forethought.

I second this. If you want a long French presence in Egypt, you could have France offer to jointly occupy Egypt together with Britain in 1882. I don't know if Britain would have actually accepted this, though.

He did conquor Egypt itt could not be effectively maintained without control of the sea which the French did not have.

There was little scope for further expansion. And overall it was gpoing to cost a lot more than it possible prduce.

It was envisaged as some sort of threat to British India, but it was not.
