How differently would history pan out if the House of Rashid ruled the region today? Were they more liberal/moderate than the Sauds? Would their global alliances have changed? How would they deploy oil in global politics? Would they be so interventionist? How Would relations be like with Turkey, Egypt, Iran and Israel?

They would be more standard Sunni Conservative than the Saudi Salafists.

Also I doubt they'd go to war with Hijaz.

Couldn't they want to acquire Mecca and Medina, though?
Saudi Arabia would be better today with Hijaz, Nejd and Eastern province as separate nations as it was before Saud arrival. Hijaz and the area ruled by Sharif of Mecca/Medina was pretty liberal as was the eastern province. Only the centre was conservative.
