I have read that at the battle of Cannae between 50000 to 75000 roman/allied soldiers died and at the battle of arasiuo between 80000 to 120000 romans died, so i was wonderinf if there has been a more bloodier battle in a single day than any of those?

The great war will probably win the honours here (realistic numbers)

For Scotland I'll say the battle of Harlaw (red Harlaw) where Lowlanders and highlanders attempted to wipe each other out and left Scotland awash with widows and orphans.

I always wonder about the exact accuracy of those ancient battles.
It always sounds good to come back and say your side killed thousands.
For the US, it was the Battle of Sharpsburg/Antietam, Maryland. An
estimated 23 thousand (12K Union, 10K CSA) were killed on 17 September 1862.

I think maston moore was englands bloodiest battle and clontarf was irelands, but I beleive the somme was the bloodiest single day in the war and only 58,000 casualties on its first day.

August 6, 1945 from 8:00 to 9:00 AM (Hiroshima time) may well have been the bloodiest single hour all along military History...

Good point. I never would have thought of that one, but it is true. Also, I wonder how many died in the firestorms in German cities. I guess I should look it up.
