What would it have taken for Ashkenazi Jews to have lots and lots of children in the post-WWII decades? As of right now, the world's Jewish population hasn't even reached its pre-Holocaust level yet--and this is in spite of the fact that Mizrahi Jews have indeed reproduced a lot over the last 75 years while Ashkenazi Jews haven't:

What would it have taken for Ashkenazi Jews to reproduce a lot in the post-WWII decades so that their population would have rapidly grown and quickly recovered from its demographic losses in the Holocaust and resumed its pre-Holocaust trajectory?

Dr. Sheldon Cooper would say, "Lots and lots of coitus." I'm just sayin'.

Jews in the USSR were poor (as was almost everyone), no? This didn't cause them to have lots and lots of children; rather, Jewish fertility was one the lowest in the USSR, if I recall correctly.

Note: Jews in the USSR were very well-educated but also poor to my knowledge. The only well-off people in the Soviet Union were the elites.

The conversion part wasn't going to happen after the Holocaust. Period. Besides, Catholic countries such as Italy, Spain, Portugal, and Poland have an extremely low TFR nowadays--though they did have a relatively high TFR until the 1970s or 1980s.

Hasidic Jews, who originated in eastern Europe and are therefore Ashkenazi, have had a very high reproductive rate for many years. They average about 8 children per family. I think that's probably because their religious community, rabbis, leadership, as well as their peers, encourage it.
I think that the tendency of the mainstream Ashkenazi Jews to have small families is probably due to being economically successful, and being middleclass. Most of the financially secure middleclass population tends to have small families.

Yeah, the Hasids live a more traditional way of life. For instance, they might reject using cars on the Sabbath at all.
