There have been a few made. A couple of my favorites are the low budget ones like Wicked Spring. A bunch of the guys in my unit are in that one. Which ones do you guys like?

gods and general, glory ....

will anyone dare say gone with the wind?
I see you didn't say Gettysburg this time. I have actually never managed to see Gone With the Wind in it's entirety. I have this phobia of seeing "farbs" doing movies. Augustus and any other CW reenactors know what I'm talking about. It was all I could do to watch The Blue and The Gray, if the story wasn't as good as it was, not saying the acting was good, I'd have turned the channel.

I'd have to say Glory and Gods and Generals are both high on my list. The problem I have with G&G is, and I watched part of it today, was in the scenes of First Manassas, they showed the Virginians taking the guns fo Griffith's Battery on Jackson's left. First the attack on the battery came from left in real life, second NORTH CAROLINA TOOK THOSE GUNS FIRST!!! NOT VIRGINIA!!! :a2

Other than that, great movie.

How was Cold Mountain ? I never saw that one ?

I wouldn't be surprised to see Gettysburg on everyone's list. Despite a few minor historical inaccuracies ... that movie is amazing.

I've never seen Gone with the Wind either?

Does Old Yeller count as a Civil War movie?

Cold Mountain wasn't so much about the war then one mans quest to get away from it. Phillip Seymour Hoffman made that movie and should have won best supporting actor.
