I understand the General didn't have much of a voice
forever remembered as George C. Scott's interpretation. rarely has an actor so matched up with character.
and remember, the pistols were ivory handled, not pearl.

The bottom one is my auto image of him.

But the Boney is Rod Steiger in my head most of the time.
Although Wellington doesn't have the name recognition that Boney does, at least people think of Wellington himself and not Christopher Plummer (who did a fine job of playing him).

He was pretty clear that only a 'cheap New Orleans pimp" uses a pearl handled revolver.

Oddly enough, I was watching Firefly with Nathan Fillion the other day, and there is an episode where he Captain Reynolds and crew save a house full of prostitutes from marauder's. The madame of the house has a pearl handled revolver! I couldn't find a pic.
