I believe the answer is they were chickens. They would had have the bomb if USA would have use it at least to disarm Russia??!

Every one is asking??!?! Could Russia be conquered?!?! Many say "No". Yes she could. 10 atomics bombs would have made the job. Like i said Russia was big they could use it for intimidation, made a democratic state and let them be after, like they did in Germany.

What would had Stalin did if he would had have atomic bomb before USA?!?!!?
I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but in 1945, there were only two bombs. That’s it - nada mas.

Nobody calls me chicken !

Are you sure? This is simple America had power and she was wrong not to use it. Russia didn't have friends, only enemies.
America "sold" east Europe and now is conquering her back but to much wrong was done!
Maybe Europeans should have tried to solve their own problems before resorting to war among themselves. The US is not your free “get out of jail card”. Twice during the first half of the last century Europeans have foisted total war on the world and forced the Americans and Canadians to bail it out from its own disastrous “diplomacy”.

"You know, the U.S. already had nuclear weapons and the Soviet Union was just building them until they received important information through Soviet foreign channels . Not carry information on microfilm , but actually suitcases . Trunks !" Said Vladimir Putin at a meeting with military officials in February 2012, drawing attention to the importance of KGB agents had during the Cold War .

About CANDY operation , conducted between 1941 and 1945 , the Soviet operation to obtain information on the progress of building nuclear weapons to countries involved in the Second World War , has written quite a lot and quite a little while . More through the many rows , but less as a result of information provided. The idea of creating an extremely powerful weapons , unmatched by that time , was born in 1938 in Germany when researchers fail to divide experimental atom . Aware of the strategic advantage offered by such a weapon , Japan, USA , Italy , UK and USSR launches independent study research institutions , while intelligence are given the task of spying on the results achieved by other foreign governments .

Initially , the KGB was concerned to know data on the development of his main opponent, Nazi Germany , but when he realized that they were far to fulfill its purpose, attention was focused on American allies ( the Manhattan Project ) and British ( Tube alloys project ) .

Penetration of the Manhattan Project has proven to be the most prolific , the KGB featuring an impressive number of undercover agents and about 200 sources , many of whom are represented even by American researchers who worked on the program. Among Russian intelligence officers who have worked on this operation include Gregory Heifetz , who was able to obtain information from the Radiation Laboratory in Berkeley , Gaik Ovakimian , he managed to recruit an impressive number of American Communists obtaining molds for profile implosion single bomb , Anatoli Iaţkov among whose information included data on the number of bombs that Americans can build or wife and Elizabeth Vasily Zarubin , whose main merit is recruiting source " Perseus " , American researcher with a particular role important , but whose identity was not made public until today .

Another famous couple is that of spouses Lona and Morris Cohen, American citizens , supporters of communist ideology and the KGB recruited about 10 years before starting operation CANDY , if they have an important role in transporting documents from microfilm and military research center found Los Alamos to KGB headquarters in New York.

The network will be unmasked in 1945 when the CIA and MI6 unable to break radio codes sent from New York to Moscow. However, CANDY proved far espionage operation with the greatest impact in determining the balance of global power . The Russians were able to build the atomic bomb in just four years , a miracle at the time, during the initial estimated at a minimum duration of 20 years. KGB managed to repatriate timely but only some agents and informers , the rest being arrested by U.S. authorities , a situation that led to the collapse of communist ideology in the U.S., Canada and Britain .

You must realize that this operation would have failed if not American researchers wanted to voluntarily offer support Soviets. In this respect we refer again to a statement by Vladimir Putin, in the same context presented above represents a hypothetical vision , even if subjective , though considered by some analysts :

" Cream scientific world was gathered in America and personally i thought it gave us aware about the atomic bomb secret. They did it consciously because the atomic bomb was used on Hiroshima and Nagasaki and scientists understand the intellectual elite of mankind , the At that time , you can make unilateral possession of such weapons ."
OK, so it took the US less than 3 years to make the atomic bomb and we didn’t need to steal anything from anyone to get there.

Any difference between Americans and Nazis...None.
Even discussing this topic shows pretty much what American national psych is all about.
Dropping nukes upon an ally just after the war is over. Attacking ally who bore the major burden of the war.
I do think US needs some strong shock medicine like Germans got after two World wars.
Well in the panoply of inaccurate things to bring to this topic, this comes close to winning first prize. You might want to check the nationality of the poster who first proposed using nukes on the Russians, because he is an Eastern European who has problems with the Soviet Union.

I think Truman considered the possibility by 1946. The US may have had as many as 6 bombs by then. However the process of extracting U-235 from uranium ore was still slow and expensive. Truman was angry that the USSR wasn't withdrawing from Europe or reducing its military strength the way the US was.

This is all true but things didn't deteriorate quickly enough between the USSR and the USA until it was basically too late. Even then atomic warfare wasn't MAD until the 1950s and 1960s, and Macarthur's plan to nuke China while very risky was not entirely insane in an era before the hydro bomb. Regardless while it wasn't quite MAD, it wasn't something anyone wanted to do(hence why a popular general was fired).
Mac wasn’t that popular and popularity is not a reason for keeping a self-involved egomaniac in his position. Roosevelt was extremely leery of him but that didn’t mean he wouldn’t use him as long as he didn’t come home. When Truman fired him, it was well-deserved and after that he just “faded away”.

Because turning entire European Russia into ashes and resulting fallout effect on Eastern then whole Europe would make US no different than Third Reich or Stalinist Russia , a Colossus eager to emply mass human extermination for politics. Creating a Desert and calling it Peace is not liberation.

I believe he was responding to this genocidal gentleman from Virginia:
The United States should have built as many bombs as was necessary and bombed as many russian cities as they could.

Why? They had 4 years this atomic bomb before USSR have it.

So why they didn't drop it or much better to use it to control what they are fighting today to take control from Europe and save any other country from Russia influence and the bad things they did?
Um... we DID use atom bombs to intimidate the USSR- that was ONE of the rationales supporting their use on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. A demonstration that Stalin had better STOP taking territory RIGHT NOW because if pressed the US had the means to destroy him.

It worked, Stalin stopped. AND he STAYED inside the iron curtain...
