WWII raids

I know that, after Dunkerque and before the D-Day, allied forces set up raid operations on Mainland Europe and Scandinavia. Dieppe is infamous, I know that there have been raids in Norway. Is there a comprehensive work on these?

Not only is it very informative about the operation itself, it gets to the truth of why it happened, which was hidden from the public till now, that it was just a large scale pinch raid.

There were many others around the world, as the various "private armies" were often in competition with each other as much as with the Axis. For instance, the Special Boat Service and Special Air Service actions against Axis airfields on Crete and Rhodes, Long Range Desert Group raids on airfields in Libya, and the Dodecanese nonsense are not listed.
