"
Zahi Hawass, Egypt's former head of the Supreme Council of Antiquities, former antiquities minister, dismissed from the post after Egypt's 2011 uprising is back in the field : he has been appointed by the Antiquities Ministry to head the team that will review the muons scan of the Great Pyramid of Giza results. Hawass has in the past downplayed the usefulness of scans on ancient sites, saying that they have never found anything important. But back in the field following his new appointment, Hawass seemed more reluctant to criticize scanning technologies. He said they could be useful if directed by the right hands — such as his own. "You need Egyptologists to oversee all this, otherwise mistakes can be made," he said..."

He's the right fellow for the job - if you want media attention - and that is what the SCA is looking for to boost tourism. I mean whose even knows what Ibrahim Mohammed looks like (the current holder of Zahi's office).

He has a long history of making mysterious comments but his comments recently have left little to the imagination; he has no intention of releasing any scientific results until they support Egyptological doctrine.

The very first thing they did when the thermal anomaly and path was found that probably lead to the Mafdet Lynx and the Book of Thot was to issue a call to Egyptologists to hypothesize its nature. Obviously this doesn't and never will fit in with any Egyptological beliefs and no new information of any sort has been intentionally released since. Ironically it was inadvertant comments by Hawass himself which allows the nature of the anomaly to be understood scientifically.

They've refused to do testing for decades and they just might stop now. If they continue they might never release the results because no scientific test will ever confirm Egyptological beliefs. If they don't have any evidence after 200 years then they never will. For all practical purposes Egyptology is a science as seen through the assumptions that the great pyramids are tombs dragged up ramps by a highly superstitious people who never changed. They lack evidence to support these assumptions and have never investigated them scientifically. The current testing being done will show just how wrong they are. There's little reason to expect very much from the muon scanning so those results might be released. Any new knowledge gained from them will not support their four foundational assumptions.

Yeah ever since they started doing the testing Cladking has been running around suggesting they are going to 'hide' the results. This is to prep the world when - shockingly - when the science doesn't support his hair-brained ideas.

Cladking then spewed out the following nonsense:

He has a long history of making mysterious comments but his comments recently have left little to the imagination; he has no intention of releasing any scientific results until they support Egyptological doctrine.
Actually he said no such thing this is just something Cladking made up - he has refused to link to where Zahi made these comments - I wonder why?

The very first thing they did when the thermal anomaly and path was found that probably lead to the Mafdet Lynx and the Book of Thot was to issue a call to Egyptologists to hypothesize its nature.
"probably"? the Mafdet Lynx is something Cladking made up he seems to think there is a big statue inside the pyramid.....yes and it is very "mysterious" to call Egyptologists to consult on what something - in Egypt and their area of expertise ....

Obviously this doesn't and never will fit in with any Egyptological beliefs and no new information of any sort has been intentionally released since.
He is still struggling with the idea that scientists like to finish all the tests FIRST, then write up the conclusions THEN release it....mysterious stuff indeed!

Ironically it was inadvertant comments by Hawass himself which allows the nature of the anomaly to be understood scientifically.
Well no that didn't happen either but Cladking does like to make stuff up

They've refused to do testing for decades and they just might stop now.
They been doing testing for years - just not stuff Cladking likes so he pretends it didn't happen - he does like to make up stuff a lot.

If they continue they might never release the results because no scientific test will ever confirm Egyptological beliefs.
All the ones so far have....or have caused minor changes - that is what science does.

If they don't have any evidence after 200 years then they never will. For all practical purposes Egyptology is a science as seen through the assumptions that the great pyramids are tombs dragged up ramps by a highly superstitious people who never changed.
That is what the evidence shows

They lack evidence to support these assumptions and have never investigated them scientifically.
Yet another false Cladking statement - yes they have and continue to do so

The current testing being done will show just how wrong they are.
It going to show - if it shows anything that there are empty spots in the pyramid - those have been talked about for 200 years even old Zahi thinks/hopes there are unfound rooms there.

There's little reason to expect very much from the muon scanning so those results might be released.
Why is that Cladking - you seem to contradicting yourself (again)

Any new knowledge gained from them will not support their four foundational assumptions.
I don't know why not wait until the report is issued before deciding whats in it and rejecting what it says?

Sane people would do that - what would YOU do?

LOL

In July 2011, after serving two successive post-Mubarak governments, Hawass finally was obliged to give up his job. According to one Egyptian blogger, Hawass was “escorted out the back door of the ministry into a cab, showered with insults and angry chants from young archaeologists,” an event captured on video and watched by thousands of Egyptians.

These archaeology graduates sure play rough...

He was in and out of power so many times in that period that some of the time I didn't even know his current status. There were various allegations at one point if memory serves. Apparently none of these stuck.

Most trained archaeologists in Egypt can't find work and at one time Hawass represented the cause.

Say what you will about Dr Hawass and the lack of scientific research during his tenure but he took the job of protecting Egypt's past and its artefacts to heart and did a superb job.

At this juncture it just isn't clear what power if any he has or whether or not he speaks for those who do have power. But it is certainly interesting that the first science done at Giza in a generation isn't being published and he has stated nothing that disagrees with doctrine will be published. It's apparent that the infrared scanning was stopped cold when not even half completed.

Could you back up the allegation from any reputable source?

Are you referring to his statement about anomalous scientific results?

I could but it was in one of the newspapers (Daily Star Gazette?) which all download dozens and dozens of cookies that tend to disable my computer. Even deleting the cookies doesn't always work.
