Which Ridley Scott movie is your favorite?

Mine is The Duelist because I really like Harvey Keitel and the plot is quite good. A believable movie IMO.

I also really like Gladiator, Kingdom of Heaven, Black Hawk Down(one of the best film on modern warfare) and Robin hood.

I think Alien and Blade runner were great, then his career seems to have plummetted into mediocrity.

Though if you look at the three TBA films this might change again

Blade Runner, definitely, with Alien as a close 2nd! And with Legend deserving an honourable mention!

Blade Runner - director's cut, is the best. It's one of my favorite sci-fi movies.

Yep, Blade Runner is one of the best films ever.

Especially the scene where Rutger Hauer dies after his touching monologue.
And the dove-soul, flying free above the industrial and gloomy scenery...

"I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I've seen c-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate. All those moments will be lost in time... like tears in the rain. Time to die."

Actually, I liked Blade Runner as much as I did the novel(Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? by Philip K. ....). Each was very excellent in their own way.

Pretty much everything in that movie is inscribed in my brain, notably the climate modified, rainy Los Angeles and its crowded Asian streets, and Hauer's exit. Great stuff. If you have not seen it, be sure to check out the "Final Cut". The last time I had seen the movie before the most recent version, it had a cheesy voice-over narration that didn't work. Apparently Scott never wanted that, but it was forced on him by the studio which somehow thought that audiences wouldn't understand the move. The final cut takes that out and goes back to Scott's original preferences.

The Duelist .

I saw that again recently and whilst it is a good movie it is typical of many first efforts in that it has a few significant flaws - the low budget was sometimes glaringly obvious.

But the movie I think he did that was the most perfect was 1492 Conquest of Paradise. A powerful movie and an excellent cast.

Close second to Black Hawk Down.

My personal favourite is Black Hawk Down followed closely by Gladiator and followed not so closely by Blade Runner

There's no doubt that Gladiator is a very good film, but the fact that it was a remake - and therefore not entirely original - detracts signficantly from its appeal.

Gladiator had me annoyed... "But you're the fricken EMPEROR! And Roman Emperors were fairly homicidal at the best of times, and you are a particularly homicidal Emperor. So, THUMBS DOWN, okay? Just kill him."

Bladerunner was his finest moment for sure.
