i know that--i meant the new movie! well, any movie would be better with brad in it. eye candy for us .....!:D

Well he's in the one I'm shooting tomorrow. Whether he's in the mini-series in the OP, who knows? he could always sign on for a part. Stranger things have happened.

The cast they have so far seems pretty strong, plus it's HBO. HBO tends to have above-average programs. I have a pretty optimistic feeling about this mini-series thus far.

As for Brad being eye candy, I understand that, lol. I'm a well-adjusted heterosexual male and even I find the man comely. I suspect it's envy rather than attraction, but I'll call a spade a spade. ;)

Yeah, I really dug it too. A bit slow paced but a fantastic character study, very rich and nuanced.

I think that's the biggest reason why I liked it. They made the characters seem more...real? human? Not sure what I'm getting at, but much like Billy Bob did with Crockett...historical characters are sometimes made to be super-human and so far from the real deal that we get such a skewed impression on them.

How much of that is the actor and how much is that the director on how 'realistic' the part is played?

i've read that he's a really nice guy--off screen. really down-to-earth without being an arrogant jerk--you'll have to let us know, ok??? and you can give him my address. actually, if he showed up at my door, you'd be reading my obit in the paper cause i would drop dead right there of a heart attack:D but, i'd die HAPPY!!

Depends upon the parties in question. For some actors, a director is best just letting them do their thing. For others the director needs to guide them on the path the want them to take. Ideally, you get the best merger of the two. Filmmaking is so much more complex and involved a process than most people realize, so it's difficult for me to describe without a specific example. What I can say is that it's real work for everyone involved in the process, albeit supremely satisfying when the end result is a superior film.

I would say Band of Brothers and The Pacific are above average programs.
Many I have talked to about this series are on the fence about whether this is going to happen. It seems like an awful lot of effort has been put in so far to just shelf it. I believe it will be a success.

I enjoyed Rome as well...I think that was HBO. I sometimes get HBO and Showtime series mixed.

I agree, and I doubt the project will go away. However one can never tell. This business is sometimes quite squirrely.

Btw, cheers for the help, Mosin, much appreciated, my friend. I feel more comfortable going the accepted route via my agent but I am grateful for the links you provided.

And welcome to Historum, as well!

Rome is HBO, as is Treme, the series I'm on, at least once, I hope to come back.

Some of my good friends were cast members of Deadwood, also HBO, which I dug immensely.

well??? have you met brad?? i was in the grocery store yesterday and one of the magazine overs said he was cheating on angelina--what a pity!! i need details!!

Sorry to disappoint, m'dear, but unfortunately I didn't get to meet him. He'd already shot out all of his scenes in the film and had left town. Might get to chat with him at the wrap party later this month, tho. (And regarding the supermarket tabloids: I would treat them with a grain of salt.)

Hi I just thought I can join in on the conversation, its still films and acting. I have a friend who has written an absolute wonderful script about Richard III. But she has no end of red tape to deal with getting on to film. Its something to do with facts to do with Tudor hearsay, When will these idiots wake up and face up to the fact its all lies. So sorry about my rant.

Red tape from whom, if I might ask?

Lol, noted, m'dear. I actually met a young woman who has really caught my fancy just recently. She's moving here in less than two weeks. But it's complicated, and I'll likely be moving to TN this summer. I'm never lucky in love, it seems.
