Re-visiting TV series Rome

I prefer Rome to I, Cladius because the former also includes lower class Romans as major characters. That makes it somewhat unique, since nearly all historical fiction set in antiquity focuses on the lives of the aristocracy.

As great as I, Claudius was, it is far less original.

Mr Hinds did a great job as Caesar in my opinion. Most of the cast excelled in their roles to be honest.

I thought Caesar was on of the weaker characters of the series. Not so much because of the actor, but rather how he was written. Rome's Caesar was missing the charisma of the historical man.

BLASPHEMER!! HERETIC!! UNCLEAN BEAST!! All seriousness aside, there may be more of us than you think. At the very least, it should demonstrate that my standards aren't too picky, eh? Hey, I even watched "Dark Angel"! (Well, okay, Jessica Alba, but still!)

Hmm see i thought the actor although lacking the raw charisma of the real man still managed to be the center of attention any time he was on screen
